Launch Countdown is Starting
This newsletter says a big thank you to everyone who has stood behind us in the two year project of creating a conversation about the global need to renew the Christian faith among young people. First, the podcast to get the discussion going. Then the social media posts to gather a wider audience.
As of yesterday, we are happy to report that the assets of the book are in the hands of the layout artist. The distribution channels are all set up, and now we are just waiting for the final cover and book-ready page design and layout to be returned to us.
Optimistically, it’ll all be done in a week. I’m hoping by this time next week to announce that the book is live for purchase on Amazon.
Cover Art Winner
One of the most enjoyable parts is after all the writing is done and you get to choose your book cover. It has to allow you to get your message out, but you have to balance that by wrapping it in a look that will appeal to your intended audience. You voted, and this concept narrowly won. It’s not the exact cover we will use, but it’s close. It gave us the general concept to move forward, and we thank you for your participation! This is a team effort.
Youth Turning to Jesus
We’re so happy for encouraging reports about great worship gatherings in Scotland and other countries in Europe, as well as on college campuses worldwide. We pray earnestly that this trend will continue and that young people will come into a new awareness of the beauty of Jesus.
At the same time, we continue to be deeply disturbed by the attrition rate of those under 30 who have been raised in the church. This book is our attempt to do something about it. We have worked with emerging leaders all of our lives. They are amazing, and they have the giftedness needed to reJesus everything and restore a new iteration of Christianity that can reach into the hearts and minds of this generation and give them a chance to meet the Lord face to face.
Team Work
We are so grateful for your feedback over the last year, especially regarding the concepts within this book. We believe it is an important addition to a growing library addressing the need for young people to get a new grip on Jesus.
Thank you for accepting these newsletters, watching the videos, and most importantly for forwarding everything to your friends and family. This is going to be even more important to us as we move forward into the book launch phase. We want to get this book in the hands of as many young people and church leaders and church planters as possible, and we really hope you will help us to do so. We’re going to create a group discussion manual and offer a way for groups to purchase books in bulk and get a sizable discount.
